2014 THz Summit- Keating, NGC, VDI Summit Rainier
A small group of long-time friends and THz-technology partners have not only been bridging the THz Gap but actually bridging several glacial crevasses and gaps while climbing Mt. Rainier. Bill Deal, THz Program Manager for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, Richard Wylde, Managing Director for Thomas Keating Company, Tom Crowe, CEO Virginia Diodes Inc., and Stephen Jones, COO Virginia Diodes Inc., reached the summit of Mt Rainier (14,410 ft. / 4,392 Meters) on the morning of the summer solstice (guided by RMI, www.rmiguides.com). Their successful teamwork on the mountain is expected to strengthen their teamwork on the climb for advanced THz components, systems, MMICs, and quasi-optical systems. The 2015 THz summit has not been announced.
The team included 3 RMI guides and 9 climbers total; taking a rest at 7000 ft. |
Approaching base camp at 10,000 ft. |
