10/01/06: Take a Look at VDI's new 1.4-2.2 THz Frequency Tripler.
VDI recently introduced a new broadband 1.4-2.2 THz Output Frequency Tripler and 1.8-1.9 THz Frequency Extension Module (FEM); see FEM results below. The design is all solid state using planar GaAs technology. There are no mechanical tuners and the FEM may be electronically swept to any frequency in the band. These systems are mechanically and electrically robust with as much as 40% bandwidth and peak power of 2-3uW. FEMs for a variety of related frequency bands are under development. Similar higher power systems are available at THz frequencies.
